AAR Hospital Elevates Healthcare Efforts with New Kisii Medical Centre
What happened:
On 31 August 2023, we announced the official opening of our 24th medical centre in Kisii. The launch of this new facility is a significant step towards enhancing access to quality healthcare services in the county.
The AAR Hospital Medical Centre in Kisii is equipped with cutting-edge medical technology and a team of highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals. The facility will focus on a wide range of services, including gynecology, paediatric, optical, dental, and imaging, ensuring that the community has access to comprehensive medical care under one roof.
Why does it matter?
The County Government of Kisii has been keen on tackling communicable diseases and especially Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) which have been a significant challenge in Kenya. According to the Ministry of Health, 50% of Kenya’s population is at risk of contracting one or a combination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD’s) posing a serious public health issue, especially in rural areas.
AAR Hospital’s emphasis on preventive healthcare complements the Kisii County government's dedication to effective health facility management. The county grapples with elevated morbidity and mortality rates due to diseases like Malaria, Diarrhea, and HIV/AIDS, while immunization levels remain below the national average, and maternal mortality is a pressing concern. To tackle these challenges, the Kisii County Health Sector is focused on eliminating communicable diseases, enhancing healthcare access, and fostering collaboration with other sectors that would support with alleviating these diseases.
