A Vision That Took Root
In 1984, Bengt and Maryjka Beckmann founded AAR in Kenya, initially as an air evacuation service. Over time, their mission evolved from emergency response to holistic, community-centered healthcare. Through the AAR Beckmann Trust, they championed the link between public health and environmental well-being—an idea that inspired the creation of Tree for Health (T4H).

Birth of a Movement
Launched in 1996, T4H was built on a simple promise: for every 10 patients treated, AAR would plant a tree and deworm a child in a local school. The goal? Improve child health and restore local ecosystems—one clinic visit at a time.

How it Works?
- One tree + one deworming treatment for every 10 patient visits
- Programs delivered through the Employee Volunteer Program (EVP)
- Strong partnerships with local schools, public institutions, and community organizations
Why It Matters
"We believe healthier environments lead to healthier lives. T4H embodies that belief, offering a tangible, scalable model that benefits future generations."
